Musician. Lasse Kuhl is best known as the lead singer of the indie-pop band sun's sons, as well as the guitarist//bassist in the solo project of his sister, Julie Kuhl. He draws on years of experience as a session musician and has contributed to several international album productions. As a songwriter and producer, his sessions have taken him to Los Angeles, New York, London, and Berlin, as well as songwriting camps in Norway and France. Songs created during these sessions have been streamed over 1 million times and have received radio airplay in both Germany and the US. Lasse Kuhl loves working across genres, blending elements of pop, indie, rock, folk, R&B, and shoegaze – with a particular emphasis on his knack for intimate storytelling. Having been on various tours, he has played over 200 concerts across 10 different countries, performing on stages for up to 6,000 people. Alongside his artistic work, Lasse Kuhl studies at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, specializing in vocals, electric guitar, and keyboards.

Producer. Lasse Kuhl produces songs for his own band, sun's sons, as well as for other artists and soundtracks. His productions are characterized by a delicate balance between organic sounds and synthetic instruments. On the latest release, Wonderful News, Lasse Kuhl particularly showcases his sonic range, shifting from fragile to anthemic. Embracing experimentation, he incorporates elements of pop, indie, rock, folk, R&B, and shoegaze. In his home studio in Frankfurt am Main, Lasse Kuhl writes, arranges, records, edits, and mixes. For larger recording sessions, he collaborates with neighboring studios. He has already produced in sessions and camps across England, Norway, and the US, including work for film and television. In addition, Lasse Kuhl creates audio plays and soundtracks for children's book readings.
Filmmaker. Lasse Kuhl is a screenwriter, director, and producer of short films and music videos. Especially since his first international shoot in Dover, UK (Walking for Ages), his style has been characterized by personal perspectives and compelling coming-of-age visuals. The cross-media video There's You was nominated in the "Best Music Video" category at several film festivals in 2025. His filmography also includes a hand-drawn stop-motion animation. His largest project to date was the short film When It All Falls Apart, which premiered at the Eldorado Kino Frankfurt in 2026 and was presented by the music magazine DIFFUS. The film was shot in New York City and also marks an acting comeback for Lasse Kuhl, who was active in various theater groups as a child. In addition, he has produced hundreds of short-form videos for sun's sons' social media channels over the past few years, racking up over 1 million views in total.

Music Educator. Lasse Kuhl recognized early on his responsibility to help dismantle power structures within the music industry. Alongside his studies in special education at Goethe University, he therefore leads songwriting workshops for schools and associations across Germany, combining political education with inclusive music pedagogy. These workshops focus just as much on building empathy and empowerment as they do on the joy of making music. His exceptional commitment was recognized twice in 2025/26 with the Carls Scholarship from the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. For these freelance projects, Lasse Kuhl draws on several years of practical experience as an integration assistant and music teacher. He also offers private guitar lessons for children and teenagers.
